Was it because there were no "Fireworks"? Katy Perry is back on the market, after splitting with Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd. E! News reports that the pair's fling was just a rebound romance to begin with, despite the numerous photographs of a lovey-dovey Perry and Ackroyd packing on the PDA during Coachella in April.
"It wasn't serious," a source for the news site said. "She likes him a lot, but it was just a distraction. It was very short-lived, she's still dealing with getting over her marriage and it's going to take her a while to truly be able to trust someone again."
The newly single Perry, 27, debuted her new song "Wide Awake," thought to have been written about her ex-husband, British comedian Russell Brand, on Sunday at the Billboard Music Awards. Perry and Brand split in December 2011 after just 14 months of marriage; the divorce was finalized in February. The pop singer has also been tied to 22-year-old French model Baptiste Giabiconi since her split with Brand.
