The latest installment of "River Monsters" (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on Animal Planet) found host Jeremy Wade visiting Western Australia.
He was in search of the critically endangered fish known as the Glyphis Shark. Discovered in 2002, there are thought to be only around 250 adults in the wild.
Amazingly, Wade caught one in the crocodile-infested Fitzroy River. "It’s the first time this species has ever been filmed," he said. "This shark is so rare," he added, "we’re only permitted to handle it for 60 seconds."
Wade's adventures continue each week on "River Monsters," Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on Animal Planet.
