It's official, Kelly Rowland and her manager-turned-boyfriend Tim Witherspoon have decided to tie the knot.
E! Online reports that Rowland will publicly announce her engagement on an episode of "The Queen Latifah Show" that has been pre-recorded and is slated to air this Wednesday (Dec. 18). Earlier this year, rumors regarding her relationship status began to fly when she was spotted wearing a massive diamond ring on her left hand, but until now, Rowland has stayed mum on the issue. She tells Latifah, "We've kept it very, very low -- for years, to be completely honest."
The 32-year-old "X Factor" judge reveals that Witherspoon first asked for her hand in marriage while she was in Bulgaria without him, telling Latifah, "He asked me first on Skype," to which her initial response was, "We're so far away from each other." Rowland has not revealed whether or not Witherspoon proposed again once she returned to the States and he had the ring in hand.
But Rowland had no reservations toward accepting the unconventional proposal. She says, "It was so late, I remember we were both just kinda like, honestly, just staring at each other. And he asked me, and it was just that simple to say yes. I was like, 'I got my best friend to ride through life with.' He really is my best friend."
Congratulations to the happy couple!
