Avril Lavigne Plans Tour For South America, United States

For the first time in more than seven years, Avril Lavigne is going on tour in North America. The "Complicated" singer announced more than 30 show dates on Monday, arriving stateside after stops in South America.



Lavigne will begin her headlining dates in São Paulo on April 29, with additional concerts set for Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico. The 29-year-old singer will join the Backstreet Boys for a national tour after wrapping her South American leg in Mexico City on May 15. Lavigne and BSB kick off their show dates in Seattle on May 22, hitting Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia, among others.



Currently promoting her latest album, Lavigne said she is "so excited" to be touring with the Backstreet Boys. The self-titled album, "Avril Lavigne," arrives in stores in November.
