After the sartorial splash (or thud, depending who you ask) Pharrell made at the 2014 Grammys in that hat, we should have expected him to come up with something special for the Oscars.
And for the big night, the recording artist/producer chose... shorts. A shorts tuxedo, to be specific -- "shux," if you will. The tuxedo with abbreviated pants, courtesy of Lanvin, wasn't as bold a departure from the classic red carpet gear as that tall Grammys hat. But the fashion choice was peculiar enough to get Twitter talking, of course.
