The trailer for "Boyhood," Richard Linklater's incredible new film, includes one pretty awesome music cue: "Hero," by Family of the Year. If you're like us, that song has been playing on repeat for the better part of the day.
Released in 2012, "Hero" comes from the band's second album, "Loma Vista," and has appeared in other settings beyond "Boyhood." It's most significant pop-culture usage was in the first season of "Girls," but it was also featured in episodes of "Degrassi" and VH1's "Couples Therapy." Last year, the band hit the late-night circuit, too, performing for Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno.
"Boyhood" is out on July 11. Feel free to burn out on this one long before then.
