Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks' studio performance of the duet "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" was the 25th video ever to air on MTV, way back in August of 1981. The song remains a rock classic, and Jimmy Fallon subbed for Petty to recreate the famous clip on Wednesday's "The Tonight Show." The jam session came with a low-lit filter that replicates the video's vintage ambiance, while Nicks reprised the crimped hairdo she sported at the time and Fallon donned Petty's signature blond bob.
Nirvana's Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, who were also guests on "The Tonight Show" and will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday, introduced the performance. "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" marked the first of three duets featuring Petty and Nicks, and now it's one of a plethora of Fallon collaborations with rock's most famous faces, including Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen.
