It's no news that both Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston want to return for the "Breaking Bad" spin-off "Better Call Saul." The two have both said that they'd love to reprise Jesse Pinkman and Walter White in their earlier days on the prequel, before the meth adventures began.
Sadly, your (and our) dreams have been crushed. While chatting with Aaron Paul about his new film "Hellion," HuffPost Entertainment asked him what was up with Jesse returning for "Better Call Saul." As it turns out, Pinkman is gone for good.
"To be honest, it's not gonna happen," Paul said about Jesse's return. "There's rumors floating around that I'm going to be doing it, but that's simply not the case."
Just to be sure that we were hearing this correctly and officially, we asked Paul if this news was on the record or not. "Kinda, yeah. I mean, I'm trying to let it be on the record," the actor said. Although Paul previously said he's had "serious talks" with Vince Gilligan about returning to Jesse, he's now saying something different. "We haven't talked about it," Paul said. "I mean, we've joked around about it, but it's a prequel. I have no idea how [Jesse] would show up. I'm much older now. But I don't look older, I look kinda younger, which is strange." It must have been something in the meth fumes.
Pretty much, Paul wants you to stop getting your hopes unrealistically up and let Jesse go. He had a great send-off on "Breaking Bad" and we're coming to terms with leaving it at that.
