The People's Climate March will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Columbus Circle in Manhattan and end on 11th Avenue between 34th Street and 38th Street. Hailed as the largest climate march in history by organizers, over a thousand groups have signed up to participate, including schools, unions, environmental organizations, faith groups, businesses and more. The march is timed to coincide with the United Nations Climate Summit on Sept. 23, which will bring together world leaders in an attempt to galvanize support for a strong international climate agreement in 2015.
