The first teaser for "Game of Thrones" has arrived in the most mysterious and sneaky of ways.
On Tuesday, the official "GoT" Facebook page posted a video advertising a new Season 5 website and social media campaign in which the "three eyed raven" will give fans "visions" of the new season. When fans go to the site they are invited to sign up with a cell phone number or Twitter account to receive "the power of the Sight." The Hollywood Reporter predicts that this is how HBO will reveal the first full Season 5 trailer, and we wouldn't be surprised. The video itself is a 10-second teaser for the new season, although it's unclear if all of the footage is new.
The reason we're questioning the footage is, of course, because it shows Bran who (spoiler alert) won't return in the fifth season since Season 4 caught up to his storyline in the books. But there is an emphasis on Arya in the brief teaser. It features what seems to be an old audio clip of Melisandre saying, "I see a darkness in you" with shots of Arya holding Needle, the iron coin Jaqen H'ghar gave her, and one possible major reveal: the door at the end.
(Spoiler alert for non-book readers -- stop reading here if you don't want the books spoiled!)
As some leaked Season 5 set photos reveal, Arya heads to Braavos in the upcoming season. Fans of the "Ice and Fire" series know that in the fourth book Arya goes to the House of Black and White in Braavos where she joins the Faceless Men, a religious assassins group, sheds her old personality and goes blind. The black and white door featured in the teaser may just be a hint at Arya's trip to the Braavosi temple.
Fans on Reddit joked about being so excited over a door, but then again, as Redditor ZeroTheCa noted, "Only this show would get me excited for a such a beautiful door, modified dialogue, and scenes we've already seen before." Some fans, however, speculated whether or not Arya will get the Sight eventually like her brother Bran. Either way, we'll have to wait until HBO sends out the first "vision" text/Tweet to find out more. Till then, we can maybe look to the actor's Instagram accounts for help, since some cast members have been known for posting spoilery photos. Maisie Williams did post a photo of just her eyes recently.
