Almost a year after the release of a predominantly English album, Shakira is already prepping the release of a new bilingual record.
The currently untitled album will include collaborations with Mexican rock group ManĂ¡, Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz and rapper Iggy Azalea, according to Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
While it was originally not known whether the album would be entirely in Spanish, the first from the artist in approximately 10 years, now El Mundo says the album will include tracks in English and be released this Spring.
Bilingual albums are nothing new from the Colombian star, but a Spring release for the album seems a bit soon for the self-described perfectionist who worked on her self-titled record for two and half years before releasing it last January.
Shakira is no stranger to working with artists from all genres, her past albums have featured artists like Rihanna, Blake Shelton, Magic!, Pitbull, Calle 13 and more. The singer collaborated with Alejandro Sanz for her 2005 hit song, “La Tortura.”
The songstress first discussed the upcoming album in October with Spain’s EuropaPress. At the time the star said she would begin work on it after the birth of her second son sometime this month.
“And then next year, I think after the baby is born, I’ll start producing my new album,” Shak told EuropaPress. “A Spanish album, which is what has me most excited right now.”
