The first movie directed by comedian David Cross that premiered at Sundance last year now has a full-length trailer that you can watch.
"Hits" tells a story of fame in the digital age, when often it's those who least expect to be a viral sensation become exactly that. "Veep" star and Upright Citizen's Brigade co-founder Matt Walsh stars as a father and frustrated citizen of a small town in upstate New York who accidentally becomes YouTube-famous, much to the chagrin of his fame-seeking daughter, played by Meredith Hagner.
The Ralph Waldo Emerson quote at the end of the trailer says it best: "Fame is proof that people are gullible."
As one would expect from Cross, there are lots of recognizable funny people on the cast, including stand-up comic James Adomian, "Drunk History" creator Derek Waters, Amy Sedaris, Wyatt Cenac, Michael Cera and more. The movie has yet to set a release date, but you can watch an interview with Cross and the cast from the 2014 Sundance Festival below.
