Jennifer Aniston's half-brother AJ Aniston is a 24-year-old "crust punk," whom when the Daily Mail ran into him at Burning Man a few weeks back really, really didn't want to talk about his very famous sister.
"It’s been happening since middle school [people asking about the actress]. It’s been a pain in my ass for years. No comment," the self-described artist, who often lives in a van, and has "Live Free" tattooed across his stomach, told the paper when asked for an interview about his sister.
And it's not just the media AJ doesn't discuss her with -- an unnamed friend of AJ's told the Daily Mail that his relationship with this family is something he won't bring up:
"I've never met Jen, but I know with AJ it was not even an issue he would really talk about, he never brought her up. I don't know the whole situation or what the state of the relationship with his family, but I think probably his dad helps him out with money, I just have a feeling."
This is just one of the reasons we find it hard to believe reports that the 44-year-old actress has asked her half-brother to be the best man at her wedding to Justin Theroux.
“Justin feels that having AJ act as his best man at the wedding will give him an anchor in the family … There’s no doubt that AJ is quirky, but he’s got a good heart and Jen does love him,” a family insider told The Inquisitr, adding, "AJ is exactly the kind of person that security would throw out of Jen’s wedding. Instead, he’ll be front and center at the ceremony.”
Because that makes tons of sense.
Previously, the Daily Mail had reported that Theroux's younger brother Sebastian was the "perfect contender for his best man," but sources at the time reportedly told the Mirror that Theroux is leaning toward actor Ben Stiller to fill the role.
Meanwhile, let's not forget that Aniston herself has said the couple hasn't even started planning the wedding, so it's not clear where all these rumors of who is taking the job of best man are coming from in the first place.
"We have yet to set any dates. There have been no canceled weddings. There have been no postponed weddings. There have been no arguments about where to get married. Just clearing all that up," she told the Associated Press in July.
Request for comment made to Jennifer Aniston's rep has not been returned at this time.
