Public Lou Reed Memorial To Be Held At Lincoln Center

A public memorial will be held at Lincoln Center in honor of Lou Reed, the musician, singer, songwriter and poet who passed away on October 27. On Thursday, November 14 from 1-4 p.m., Reed's family and friends will play personally chosen recordings of Reed's work.

The Facebook event reads: "No speeches. No live performances, just Lou’s voice, guitar music & songs." Since Reed's death at only 52 years old, artists and friends have honored the glam rocker's hard-edged lifestyle and expressive interior, including Laurie Anderson and Patti Smith.

The memorial will take place at Lincoln Center by the Paul Milstein Pool and Terrace. In the meantime, re-experience the power of his most impactful lyrics here.
