In case Céline's Spring 2015 ad featuring Joan Didion wasn't iconic or exciting enough for you, Saint Laurent's news, while a bit more ambiguous, might just put you over the edge.
The label has tapped none other than legendary singer and songwriter Joni Mitchell to be the next star of its Music Project. Previous participants in the project include the likes of Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson, but at a time (and more specifically) a week where unconventional models are being chosen to pose for some of the most major labels, choosing the 71-year-old legend proves more than ever that models are not confined to certain ages or careers.
According to Saint Laurent's Twitter account, Mitchell was photographed in her California home in a full YSL look including a leather cape made for her by creative director Hedi Slimane. The fashion house also noted that additional images are set to be released in this month's V Magazine.
We can't wait to learn more about this project, but for now we will rejoice in viewing the images. Well done, Saint Laurent.
